Pews with a View - Neighborhood Church

Inside the Neighborhood Church, originally the J.J. Haggerty Mansion. You can see the view of the outside by clicking here.
For you, would the view be a distraction or a inspiration to accompany the service?

I think it would be a little bit of a distraction, but also inspirational. Best of all, if the sermon was a little boring, it would offer a view to let the mind wander off a little.

I wish my church's pews had cushions like these.

I just checked the original post: this is a really lovely building. About your question I can't say, the view from your photo points toward distraction, but I'm not so sure. I think this is the first church I see with windows at eye level.
Very good image and interesting post, I'm curious to read the other comments...

That's a nice little neighborhood.
I remember attending a wedding in PV bak in de 90's. The church was also on the coast, near the water, and seemed to be on a cliff. I wunder if this could bee de same 1 ?

Maybe if you put up some pics of the parking lot & courtyard I could tell 4 sure.

Do people come to church early just so they can get the seat by the window?

A distraction for sure! We just visited a church in Sedona today where I was thinking the same thing about the view.

Wow, it must be difficult to pay attention to the mass when you have such lovely view outside the window!
Superb Photo. Regards!

Depending on the day it would be both...
a nice distraction or a way to let my thoughts fly over the Ocean!!

I think it could be both distraction and inspiration depending on the sermon!

I remember when I was around 6 years old. A friend and I were outside that church , climbing thru past a little wall to get down to an area that was closed off to the public close to the water. My friend's teacher was inside the church at mass and saw us. She came running out, desperate to save us. We were so surprised. We probably climbed down there once a week or more. If you were small enough to squeeze thru, it should be ok, right?
