Crazing the Full Moon
February full moon through the trees at the Wayfarers Chapel.
Crazing - The cracking of a glaze on a fired ceramic pot. It is the result of the glaze shrinking more than the clay body in cooling process.
Not knowing what crazing is, I completely misunderstood the title. Now I can say that 'Crazing the Moon' is at least as beautiful as the image itself. Great idea.
From the title that appeared with the thumbnail in my blog list I actually thought that this was a particularly beautiful piece of ceramic ware. Now I see it's a particularly beautiful moon.
Some glazes are created to crack. Sometimes it happens when you wish it wouldn't. Then again crazing isn't always a crack but when the clay pulls away from the clay body and thn thickens around the edge.
