Panda Express: It's What's For Dinner in PV

If you look beyond the appealing melons, you'll see a long line at the Panda Express Chinese Food counter inside Pavilions market. While it may seem that I'm picking on my fellow PV residents, if I liked Panda Express, I'd be right there in the line with them. So my alternative is to grab the freshly baked rotisserie chicken and a warm loaf of French bread, and along with some quick side dishes, I've got a "cooked" meal for the three of us.

Here is a peak thru the mail slot into the tower's lovely old interior. Currently, it's an antenna station.

'Back-to-School' Night at Pen High School

Meet & greet evening for the parents and the teachers (who are truly excellent) at the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. The parents toured the student's schedule, and got a 10-minute pitch from each teacher on the curriculum and their expectations. Here the PE teacher, Mr. Helmrich (way in the background), is talking to parents.

I don't have the talent for decorating, but my friend L. certainly does. This is a detail of the dining room in her house in San Pedro, in the southeastern foothills of Palos Verdes peninsula.

The green alcove housed an indoor BBQ when she moved in last January.

Sweetness at First Cut


I remember my son's first official haircut. He was 3 years old and was so scared that he sat completely upright and perfectly still. This haircut scene at the PV mall remineded me of something Norman Rockwell would have painted.
