GUESS

At the open area of Del Amo mall, nearby. The lights were quite festive.
I was told photography was not allowed. Anybody's GUESS as to why.

A Hopping, Arty Place

A Starbucks afternoon at PV mall
Starbucks is a place majority of us love to hate - and end up there because it's THERE and it's warm and cozy. This one is livened up with "Mexican Tinwork Tiles" creations by 5th grade students at Point Vicente Grade School, as part of the Art at Your Fingertips projects bringing wonderful and diverse exposure to creating art at the local schools. An artist creates a project, teaches volunteer parents who in turn, teach the projects in the classroom. I've done that when my son was little and, in addition to being very rewarding, it reaffirmed my admiration for teachers' skills and perseverence.

Wednesday Doorways (Promenade on the Peninsula)

Red door - framed.
Off with their heads -- and tops too.
I always liked the pretty red doors of Talbots (a conservative women's clothing store) at PV mall.
Makes it all the more funny to see the mannequin in a state of undress.

What's cuter than 3 plush pandas?

Aren't the children adorable? A happy family at the PV mall.
"...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." around here.

At PV Mall, the former Border's bookstore is being partitioned off for offices perhaps.
Today is City Daily Photo Theme Day. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Light at the end...

... of a walkway at PV Mall (The Promenade), leading from parking structure to Border's Bookstore. The slight tint is mine, the look is real - somewhat stark, but it is much more pleasing than most mall walkways.

Pansies at the Mall

On the wall of the Marmelade Cafe at PV Mall, Spring 2010
According to Wikipedia, "the name 'pansy' is derived from the French word pensée meaning "thought", and was so named because the flower resembles a human face." This bunch seemed to be observing and commenting on the passers by.

Mall Defense

The Northrop F-5E fighter aircraft was on static display at the mall during the PV Peninsula fair held in early June. The airplane belongs to the Western Museum of Flight, located at the Torrance Airport.

Sweetness at First Cut

I remember my son's first official haircut. He was 3 years old and was so scared that he sat completely upright and perfectly still. This haircut scene at the PV mall remineded me of something Norman Rockwell would have painted.
