Pansies at the Mall

On the wall of the Marmelade Cafe at PV Mall, Spring 2010
According to Wikipedia, "the name 'pansy' is derived from the French word pensée meaning "thought", and was so named because the flower resembles a human face." This bunch seemed to be observing and commenting on the passers by.

I like the moulding on the container. The whole thing seems quite high off the ground.

Absolutely beautiful photo of flowers and it's not even in color. Bravo.

Even in black and white, pansies are always beautiful

Hmm, pensive pansies. I never knew that, learned something new today. :)

The jardinière is gorgeous and works perfectly in your monochromatic photo. Excellent choice of subject and beautifully executed.

daffodils, pansies and snap dragons. All childhood favorites because they have faces

Sometime black and white is the best!

Great shot! The pansy's patterns really stand out in black and white.

Charming. I'm with PA, those were my three favorite flowers, and I'll still snap a dragon.
