Priceless View for Free

Early winter is usually the time when the haze disappears from the Southern California coast, making possible the lovely, clear views across the Santa Monica Bay. This was taken on Sunday afternoon about 3:30 pm from the back parking lot of the Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall and the access point to a section of Point Vicente Park.

Although it is crowded with expensive homes, Palos Verdes coastline also has many locations where everyone can enjoy the views and get to the beach or cliffs. The St. Paul's Lutheran church in the foreground is one I posted last June. The streets are Hawthorne Blvd. ending at PV Drive West. Across the bay are the Santa Monica Mts and I think the peak in the back is part of the Santa Susana Mts.

Wow that's quite a view. My brother lived in Santa Monica for a while but he never sent me photos like these; probably scared I'd want to move there.
I've just enlarged the photo; yes, I could definitely live there..

i like how this photo has been composed. Simple but effective.

Terrific expansive view, Tash. It does look like a lovely place to live. Are all the houses big and modern and expensive? No fisherman's huts from the Great Depression still left?

That is a million dollar view!
