Invitation or Prohibition?
Do signs like this warn people away or give them ideas?
We walked along Portuguese Point which is thankfully the Abalone Cove Ecological Preserve. The view is of Inspiration Pt and the horseshoe shaped Protuguese Cove.
The surveyer's mark from 1936 is at the South-East corner of Portuguese Point.
I wouldn't go nude sunbathing with all that cacti there. ouch. and I wonder why the "nude" sign doesn't have a Spanish companion. the view is too beautiful to be distracted by dangly bits anyway.
Everybody asked or commented on what I had to say! No equivalent in Spanish, and sure, frolic nude in the surf, just don't lie around! How about just topless sunbathing...?

The surveyers mark is neat. MB
I tried that in Jamaica, wasn't all it was cracked up to be,lol...gorgeous view!
Why does nude sound so much more lacivious than naked? (I'll be at the Huntington tomorrow and come back with three good reasons why should visit now.
That sign is just tempting trouble! Lol!
It is such a beautiful spot.
LOL! That's too funny :-)
Damn!
I'll have to put my trousers back on now...
no lifeguard on duty hence no nude sunbathing?!! :)
Oooh, that is a sign just waiting to be disobeyed!

If memory recalls, not a lot of room to sunbathe. Seems I remember a long drop.
Clearly prohibition...
