Just a bit of color...

... planted at the entrance to our townhome complex.
Addendum: The flower is a Field or Corn poppy (Papaver rhoeas).

John Updike (March 18, 1932 – January 27, 2009)
I read Updike's early Rabbit novels while in college. They were way beyond my maturity level or full understanding at the time, but I still loved them. I eventually read the other two, with the final being Rabbit at Rest. RIP, Mr. Updike.

This could almost be a painting! I love the angle and the colour. Perfect post.

I read them too (also much too young I think).

I love poppies! They are such happy flowers.

Thanks for the Updike tribute. My mother wrote a book about him and I felt the loss of him and her the other day. The poppies photo is beautiful.
