Urban (or Suburban) Lights

I wish I could take a photo that would twinkle like the real thing. As Margy of Powell River Books (visiting LA this week) observed, we've been having lovely clear days & nights. The view is looking at the Peninsula Center parking lot, Hawthorne Blvd. (along the left side, with cars coming up the hill) and East over LA basin and is taken from the parking lot of the Korean Hope Church on Highridge Road.

This reminds me of a much larger view I used to have of L.A. at night when flying down/over there. Lovely.

Beautiful view Tash. Aren't you getting rain this weekend? My mom down in San Diego said they are expecting some. We are expecting quite a bit of rain here today and poor Ash is on her way to DC right now. I hope the rain holds out for those kids!

Wonderful picture Tash! I love these night shots and leaving that tree to the left in the foreground was a great idea.

I wish I could too Tash! I took some of our city the other night and they all went into the little silver trashcan on my MAC! Yours is great. Love the foreground/background thing. Very nice!

Fantastic photo!
The lights of LA have been shown so many times in movies, I wonder if this parking lot is the same spot where they do most of the shootings...

If I squint really really hard, I can see the twinkles. I love the expansive feeling of this vista.

WOW, what a shot! You really captured it. I see the twinkle, I swear I do...

Thanks for the view from up on the hill. Down here on the flat lands we can't see those twinkling lights. Saturday Wayne and I are winging our way north to Bellingham and then back to Powell River. We miss our home on the lake, but a few sunny warm days here in LA have been great. Thanks for all the good weather (and no fires!) -- Margy

It twinkles to me of city light, not something I get here. Beautiful cityscape.
