September Theme Day: BIG
I join LA basin bloggers in posting the cloud building over the Station Fire, that reached 20,000 feet. I usually post the Good Year blimp under more happy circumstances, but this time, for many, it has been anything but a good year.
I've seen about it here in the French news at TV. By the way dear Tash, I'm very worried about California news, about all fire and so on. I hope everything will be okay there! God bless you Léia
Hi Tash. Just want to let you know I linked to this post in my post today because I mention this smoke cloud and your photo is such a dramatic view of it.
It's a terrible fire - I remember many when I lived in Pomona. We've had lots of fires here in BC this summer because of the unusually hot, dry weather. We've been careful and fortunate here on the coast at least. - Margy
This looks like an epic disaster movie where the whole of Los Angeles has been swallowed up by this giant cloud and the only way out is this Good Year Blimp and you, Tash, are the only one left to save the world. As a parent with kids who had asthma, I can only imagine the horrible discomfort people are experiencing.

Amazing! The cloud looks just as big from there as it does here.
The smoke cloud certainly fits the theme of BIG!
Well, it must be quite a building that's covered by the cloud.
It is so scary, hope everything gets better. Big it is anyway...
Amazing photo for any day, but extremely fitting for the big theme day. All of us hope the fires are contained soon.
The cloud seems all the more sinister against a bright blue sky.
What a cloud. So impressive.
(Sintra, glorious eden)
Big cloud, big blimp! I like this!
Wow that smoke cloud is unbelievable and really scary! I hope they get it under control soon.

The cloud is not from the smoke though, is it? If so, that is scary!
Try and find an LA blog that doesn't have something to do with this huge fire. Yours gives a good idea of the scale of it, and how ominous it is.
Utterly amazing cloud. It certainly dwarfs the blimp and just about every other BIG posting.
Obviously everyone is watching and praying.
In a way it looks bigger from the south Bay, because you can get an idea of the breadth of it. Quite a shot, Tash.
I am usually a big fan of the Cumulus clouds , this one unfortunately, is a sad one

Although sad it is just amazing.
Great shot with the blimp, both big.
Oy, the news is sounding a little better today at least.

Is today Tues or Wed?
I like the irony between the blimp saying good year and the idea that this one doesn't seem to be
