Conquer the (Vincent Thomas) Bridge - Labor Day 2009
Lori Lynn (San Pedro DP) tipped me off on the 5 mile run/walk over our local landmark, the Vincent Thomas Bridge. This was a rare opportunity to take photos of and from the bridge. I walked the up/down/up/down course in decent time (no, I was not the last one!), got lots of photos, including close ups of the bolted joints. In this photo, Palos Verdes peninsula is in the background and you can see my fellow walkers on the return trip.

Wooohooo for Conquering the Bridge. I was there today too!! It was fun and going up the bridge was not as hard as I thought it would be. The view was just amazing, definitely different than when you drive over the bridge. :)
Can you believe we posted almost the same photo?
I have tons more to share.
It was terrific, wasn't it?

wow, inspiring to see people out on the bridge and what a good opportunity to do so. I need to get out and go for a walk. The heat is almost over so I can start hiking to dinner again. I posted a mare and colt on my site today to start a series on my website from my photography tour. It was quite an interesting trip to the slot canyon and Vermillion Cliffs. Also, if you like travel photos, we have posted action photos from Buenos Aires, Argentina on our travel photo site, www.vivalavoyage.com. Happy Monday!
I'm over from Lori Lynn's blog. This is a great shot. In fact, I enjoyed looking at the rest of your blog, too.
Great shot, my compliments for 'conquering' the bridge. We are waiting for the rest, close ups included.
And, thanks for tipping us off on this bridge photo event, nT!
Congratulations Tash, I think this is a long way to run!The bridge is massive and your picture always perfect!
Thanks for your always friend words in our blog.
By the way,Marina is studying at an international school and usually I have taken her at school . Today I had an idea for a post, to show the crazy traffic in front of the school early morning!
Girl...can you imagine this kind of situation!Of course I went by bus! LOL
Did this a couple of years ago when they opened the new Tacoma Narrows bridge. Indeed, it is a lot of fun.
There's some really nice detail of the hillside when you enlarge the shot. What a beautiful day for a walk.
Way to "seize the opportunity"! A photo-blogger disguised as a walker - very covert-op's indeed! :)
Looks like you had fabulous weather for this event!
I bet your were somewhere close to the front.
Great verticals!
I would have joined you. Like my golf score I would have probably come in with the last third of the group. Call me next time and I'll join you.
I look forward to seeing the nuts and bolts. The bridges color is amazing
You had to run after the picture to meet again your fellow walkers!!
You must have felt it refreshing to see all these blues and greens after the orange of the fire.
