444 RANCHO & 444 PALOS VERDES (Scavenger Hunt: Numbers)

I chased this bus (it's the same one) up Hawthorne Blvd. from Walteria neighborhood in Torrance to where Hawthorne peaks in Rancho Palos Verdes. The 444 line starts at Downtown LA's transit center by Union Station and ends at the coast on PV Dr. W & Seacove. The trip will take from 1 1/2 hrs in the very early morning to 2 hrs at noon. (LA-Metro-444 schedule.)
Notice the clever quick-fix for the windshield wipers problem with the ever-versatile handkerchief.

Thank you, Carrie at View of You Photography for hosting the Scavenger Hunt.

One day when I have lots of leisure time I am going to "tour" Los Angeles and surrounds by bus. Sounds weird but i reckon it's fun to hop on a bus and go to the end of its route (well, as long as it's safe). I have caught the bus down Santa Monica Blvd from Overland to SM and that was fun.

Oh, a scavenger hunt sounds like fun. I will check to see if she's doing it again. I don't know what I would have posted for 444, unless I did the Millenium Clock downtown at exactly 4:44!

Scavenger hunt? That seems interesting. Nice shot after a chase (or two?).

I bet it's pretty difficult not to miss an orange bus.

great post for a scavenger hunt of 444. very colorful and difficult to capture. buses offer but a glimpse before they rush past. I am glad you enjoyed the basket cactus on my site. Today I have a bunny ear cactus photo. I am also glad to learn of your family connection to Scottsdale.

Oh, that is too funny! My daughter's babysitter rides the 444, so everytime we see that bus, she gets so excited! I took a photo of it yesterday for her! What a coincidence :-) Great shots.

Even your buses are hot looking! California has it all going on! It's a great pick for the Scavenger Hunt.

When I first saw the white bit on the windscreen I thought it was a standard part of the bus!
