March Theme Day: Glass

Wayfarer's Chapel, 1949 and later
Lloyd Wright
Portuguese Bend at Abalone Cove, North of Palos Verdes Drive South
Entry #2 for Palos Verdes, South in An Architectural Guidebook to Los Angeles by David Gebhard and Robert Winter
"This chapel is Lloyd Wright's most widely known and visited building. His "Natural Church" was a glass structure hidden in a grove of coastal redwoods... Once inside the building you can see how successful Lloyd Wright was in creating a sense of a mysterious, almost fairy-tale natural beauty."
March 1st was City Daily Photo Theme Day. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants
I would have participated IF I'd remembered that Sunday was the 1st, and IF I'd looked at the calendar, and IF I'd looked at the date as I posted the Sunday photo.

I remember this church. My mother always wanted me to get married there. Sorry, Mom!

I'm mowing Pasadena Adjacents lawn

aaahhh ... of course! Plus you did a great job capturing the chapel. Don't you love the grounds as well?
If you head over to the bathroom at the office, they have a great faded color photo on the hallway wall of the chapel when it was first constructed (and those pines were saplings).
