Lifeguard Off-Duty

I took this photo of the lone lifeguard station at Abalone Cove Beach two Sundays ago. The station is awaiting summer to open up again.

In taking the photo, I followed what I could remember of
Babooshka's instructions on shooting steps, "Just stand squarely in front of the subject." I like the outcome.

Today the weather is more like below - taken looking from El Segundo towards Palos Verdes (hill in the background) with Manhattan Beach pier showing most prominantly.

Bottom photo almost looks like the east coast to me. Nice, moody.

The lower photo is a classic of a windswept, lonely place.

The blue sky images with clouds in some of your recent shots are fabulous! Though the mist or fog or whatever does make for atmosphere...

I love the second photo. Just super! Thanks for your comments on my site about the Chihuly photos. I went back many times to get photos in the day and night times and then kept photographing them to get some fabulous shots to share.

The silhouettes in the bottom photo are lovely. And the top one has such an iconic blue and white Californian feel.

There's something about lifeguard stations that I really like. They're so elemental and from a time gone by.

The bottom photo is just tremendous.

Really like that silhouette shot of the coast, Tash.
