"L" is for Los Angeles Basin (ABC Wednesday)
It's been an "as good as it gets" couple of weeks in the LA basin. Tuesday morning was especially clear, with the hot and dry weather being good for views of LA from PV. The photo shows the South Bay beaches and cities, with the Manhattan Beach pier, then West LA and Westwood with UCLA and Getty Center on the hill, and Santa Monica & San Gabriel Mts.

I was quite struck by the lack of smog. Is it better than it used to be.
Nice seeing the landscape around your city. So pretty!
Your "L" shot is beautiful! Love the mountains ranges!
I rarely see this particular view since I'm rarely in PV. This is a great shot!
Beautiful view!!
Thank you for the tour.
Bear((( )))
A clear day, no smog! Lovely view for L day!
That is so cool. I was walking in the La Canada foothills Tuesday afternoon. Often when its clear this way, you guys are covered in the air born goo.
Quite a different view of the LA Basin than I'm used to seeing. Love that I can see all the way to the Getty Museum.
I love that second photo!
The first one really gives a clearer idea of how LA sits in a basin. I've been there several times and driven out and up, and yet I didn't have that overall view of the city - now I can see how the smog could get trapped in there!
I didn't realise you were so close to LA the only city in the US I've ever visited. Loved the lighthouse on ABC.
Lovely photos! Thanks for sharing your lovely L place :)
Both good shots!! Love very much the second one!
You have a great view even with the smog!!! Thanks for sharing!
I am SO unfamiliar with that end of the state, although I've been down there a few times...
I can see clearly how it is considered a basin...
Beautiful. Like the mountains in the background.
Love that bottom photo!
