A fence at Soka University of America in Orange County that I visited on a tranquil Saturday afternoon with my friend PJ. 
The white spec on top is what caught my eye when driving by. The gull had a real "birds-eye view" of the streets and the ocean a few blocks away.
This past week, I turned 50. Nifty-fifty. Half a century. Even with all the jokes, I like being 50. It's a good solid number.
I figure that now I can also claim my own label.

Taken at Ridgecrest Intermediate. Tonight parents had a chance to follow their child's class schedule & spend 10 minutes with each teacher to hear about the curriculum. The kids are very fortunate to have such good and enthusiastic educators. I'm amazed at how well organized and prepared the teachers are.
I had to include the fuzzy snapshot is of Mr. Corwin, the school principal. He is well liked by the students and is an excellent adminstrator, and very much a Southern Californian.

... we can see Downtown Los Angeles and even make out Pasadena at the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. This view can be enjoyed by the middle schoolers of the Ridgecrest Intermediate from their playing field.
PV Mall is a pleasant, uncrowded place to hang out & shop - the only crowded time is on Friday evenings when it gets taken over by the younger teen set.
But for now it's awaiting customers...
Our favorite restaurant - for their steak & seafood and for the great views of the ocean/sunsets. My favorites are the flank steak & seafood brochette, mixed salad with their special French dressing.
