Erythrina - Flame Trees or Coral Trees

Time to STOP and look (in red).
I didn't realize how many varieties of Erythrina trees there are until I searched on Google.

Incredible reds gainst the sky, and the idea of the stop sign is very funny.

Beautiful! I'm not sure I've ever seen one of these. At least not in bloom. I love the red blossoms!

Tash, thanks for stopping by today. I guess we have a lot in common. Fifteen years ago we moved to New England from Arcadia, CA and the Palos Verdes area was definitely one of those areas we looked at jealously from the hot and hazy San Gabriel Valley. Your photos are beautiful reminders of a time gone by.
I also have a hazelnut torta recipe that uses very little flour. MMmm.

I'm trying to think how this tree would look on Rose Parade Lane, aka Colorado Blvd.
We gotta get something better in there after the city chainsawed our trees w/o proper thought.

Love your blog! I was raised in PV (I've lived in CO for 20 years now) but it will always be home. Your photography is beautiful!
