"R" is for Rock (abc Wednesday)

The busiest approach to Palos Verdes is Hawthorne Blvd, coming from Torrance, and what I call "PV Rock" - the hill in the photo - towers over the street as it starts the climb up the hill. I took the photo in 2008 from the back seat of a Cessna 172 upon leaving Torrance Airport with my son and his flight instructor.

Fabulous! I know exactly where we are and now I have a sense of why it doesn't fall apart in a mud slide.

That is indeed a BIG rock. What fun to fly with your son and his instructor. Does your son have his license now?

I may have once been on it, but who knows? And I never saw this beauty from the air!
