On the "Autoput" in Croatia (PVDP on Vacation)

Croatian highways (Autoput) are just great. (Althought, during summer, huge traffic jams occur as many native and foreign tourists head to or from the coast.) This very scenic stretch is about half way from the coast toward Zagreb. Sveti Rok tunnel passes under the Velebit mountain range and is 3.53 miles (5,679 meters) long.

Very beautiful.
There is a tunnel in Yosimite National Park that opens up to a breathtaking scene of El Capitian and Half Dome!

When I was a kid I used to hold my breath going through tunnels....sometimes I still do, just for fun.

That must be a bit spooky to drive through thinking about all that mountain over your head! - Margy
