Amy (our dog) and I took a walk last Saturday morning to Hesse Park. We walk good together, she stops to sniff, I to snap. I do think I snapped more than she sniffed though.
I think I like the 2nd photo better, but even after squinting (following
Pasadena Adjacent's advice from a while back) I could not decide. Which one do you like?
PS - The blue beyond the house is the Pacific Ocean. It was a great day for a walk.

Having to take people out for their walks is something us canines put up with. It's a tough job but the alternative is unimaginable.
The second one. How charming.
WV: Phitci. It's so phitcing.
I like the first one better. It's more ambiguous in part because it's in such sharp focus. Without the title you (at least I) don't know what it is. So I look harder and harder taking in the color, texture, planes. It's a photo Rorschach and the mind twirls with the possibilities!
I like the first one, and wow, that's the ocean....finally today our skies are blue, naturally right after I posted a 'gray' Skywatch!
I go for the first one. I like to see the detail of the moss. Our rock wall next to the cabin is covered in many different types of mosses. Some are so flat and black that the look like part of the rock. Others are green, white or yellow. Sorry I haven't been by for a while, but I got to spend almost two weeks up the lake, but that puts me without Internet. - Margy
Hmm hard to decide, the second one! :)
Wonderful shots and happy composition!
Hope you and Amy can enjoy more beautiful sunny day during this weekend!

I like them both. Each has something interesting to offer the viewer.
They are both good, but I think I like the first one better!
I struggle with this all the time - where to focus - and I have to say, surprisingly, the second. I think it makes a difference if you're photographing something up close - then you want to have the foreground in focus - but if it's far away, then I think the foreground out of focus is best. It does look like it was a beauty of a day.
I think I like the second one better, but it's a tough choice! It's good that you have a photowalking companion! :-)
I prefer the first one - but I like moss, so ...
I like them together.
The first one, because the colours and textures are in such sharp contrast.
I like them both.. gosh, I remember when Hesse Park was built.. lots of fun memories there.. :o)
