Last Days of Summer Vacation

From last Wednesday's trip to Catalina Island (a bit of it is shown on the second photo). My son and his friend got to experience parasailing for the first time.
We are still having extremely hot days and the fires in the hills northeast of LA are still raging. Karin, our foothills hiker, is giving updates and a personal perspective of coping so close to blaze in
Altadena Hiker.

First shot is great: those colors pierce the blue sky! I still hope to see something more of Catalina island...

Those colors look so beautiful against that blue sky! They certainly are braver than me!

That first shot is so colorful...the chute almost looks transparent as if the sky is shining through!

How fun! I'll bet they had a great time.

Magnificent colours! A beautiful day, a different spot...but I think I could not try it!
God bless you
Léia

( today was the first day for Marina at school here! I think I was more anxious than her, but everything is okay and soon she will be make new friends for sure) ;)
** Little Luna is perfectly adapted here! I think she 's got a "french ascent"in some "meows"! ;)
Just kidding!

That first shot is wonderful! I've always wanted to try this. It seems safer than jumping out of a plane! I may have a chance to go paragliding soon, but I'm still thinking about that one...

I saw that photo and the caption and thought, "what was I drinking? I don't remember taking that ride..."

Lovely picture, colors.

Terrific colors! I'm wondering how this experience compares to being at the controls of a plane for your son? More thrilling or exasperating because he's not in control? I can just feel the rush of the cool breeze in my face.
