Passing by Angel's Gate Lighthouse
Like most people, I think lighthouses are very special and especially photogenic. This is the same lighthouse I've previously posted here , but this time with Palos Verdes Peninsula and San Pedro in the background. The photo was taken from Catalina Express catamaran that goes from San Pedro to Avalon on Catalina Island, where we went for a last summer excursion (a day trip) yesterday.
While I've been preparing this post, a brush fire started in Rancho Palos Verdes heading up the hill side from the Trump Golf Course burning mostly in the Forrestal Nature Preserve. It is far away from where we live but it is still concerning and very sad as two homes have already burned in the area.

glad to hear you are okay so far!
nT, I hope your weather in the neighborhood is an ally against your fire.
Prepare to evacuate, just in case. These fires can suddenly turn on a dime & move!
Sorry for the fire, hope everything is OK. The lighthouse is much better in this perspective and the blues are impressive.
Hi! I have never been to Catalina, despite having lived in California for so long. Oh, next time...
I love lighthouses.
I too never made it to Catalina during my many years in California. When I hear Catalina, I always think of the 1966 movie "Glass Bottom Boat" with Doris Day. I'll be singing that song all day now.
As soon as I heard on the news this morning of the fire, I checked to see if you were still posting. My thoughts are with you and I hope that they can contain the fire quickly.
I immediately thought about you Tash when I was watching the news this morning! I'm glad you are OK. This lighthouse is beautiful!
You and your neighbors are in our thoughts and prayers. To wake in Tampa to the horrible scenes right in your neighborhood was a shock. Please stay safe and just know many people are watching and praying for a fast end to the fires and minimal loss of property.
Great shot. And Catalina is such a fun day trip!
Worried about that fire, but they just said on the news that it is mostly contained. Let's hope so.
I'm glad to hear the fire is far from you, because of course I thought of you when I saw it on the news last night.
Yes, Tash, hope you're ok.
I meant, "Glad you're ok."
Wonderful scene.
I've seen the fires on the nes today (main bulletins, not just the rolling news) Hope you are still ok. Looks serious.
I'm watching the news and they're talking about your fire and the one in La Canada Flintridge. I feel for you, Miss Tash and I hope all is well.
Fantastic photo!
But so sorry to hear of the fire. I can't imagine losing everything in a fire.
Very sad.
