Cause/Effect on the East Coast (2 things challenge)

Cause: Many an all-American breakfast like the one at Poppy's Cafe, Rye, N.Y. ...
... Effect: Mighty deep footprints during the morning walk on the beach in South Bethany, Delaware. East coast sand is very soft ... really.
The photo is from last Sunday. Today, huge surf pounded most of this coast due to Hurricane Bill. The water covered the beach and reached some of the homes - reported by my son who is still there.

Looks like a great breakfast except for that store bought maple syrup you have on the table:) You should give real Vermont maple syrup a try; you'll never use Aunt Jemima again.

Now I am hungry! I hope they didn't get too much damage from Bill.

Too funny! I must agree with Clueless, NE/Canadian maple syrup is a must.
It appears as though you may have displaced more of the shoreline than Bill! Just kidding. Bill passed by our part of the world without much hoopla. I was hoping for some photo ops. The only thing was a mid-afternoon downpour with bright sunshine, but no rainbow. Very odd.

Water reached some homes? Oh, that's frightening! Hope the families are okay!
God bless you!

Very droll cause and effect! Not so good about the hurricane.

Ha! Great minds think alike! Except I do believe my footprints would be considerably deeper.

As far as I know, the sand along Bethany Beach and Rehoboth is replenished every year by man, beach erosion is a big problem there.
