Afternoon Departure

The cruise ship leaving San Pedro (LA Harbor), passing "over" Terranea Resort at Long Point in Palos Verdes.
I'm off on a trip for 3 days and will be autoposting... hope the week's start is smooth sailing for you.

Theme Day: Changes

View of toward and of Palos Verdes from Seal Beach pier (31 Dec 09).
As to changes, what struck me was the woman surfer (standing with paddle)...and I am again grateful for all the opportunities that are available to women today due to changes in attitude and norms - here is to "going a longer way, baby" in 2010.

Last Days of Summer Vacation

From last Wednesday's trip to Catalina Island (a bit of it is shown on the second photo). My son and his friend got to experience parasailing for the first time.
We are still having extremely hot days and the fires in the hills northeast of LA are still raging. Karin, our foothills hiker, is giving updates and a personal perspective of coping so close to blaze in
Altadena Hiker.

Sunset in Reverse - South Bethany beach, Delaware

Sunday's Sunset
