November Theme Day: Books, Books, Books

The bookcase with paperback novels by my son's bed contains some of my all time favorites:
Strangers & Brothers (3 volumes) by C.P. Snow, Pride & Prejudice, The Balkan Trilogy by Olivia Manning, Doctor Zhivago, Les Miserables (Penguin Classics translation), Brideshead Revisited and Helena by Evelyn Waugh, travel books by Freya Stark. Many, many more favorites cover 3 more of our walls.
The 1st of the month is City Daily Photo's Theme Day. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Oo, how interesting. I love browsing people's bookcases. It's one of the first things I do when I go to a person's house for the first time. Or if it seems inappropriate, I do it surreptitiously, from where I happen to be sitting. Your son has good taste in literature!

You can learn a lot about somebody,
just by browsing on the bookshelves...

And picture!!

What a great collection he has! I also love the boyish touch of his bookcase, with the baseball and other little toys :)
Happy Theme Day and have a great weekend Tash!

A wonderful library of books for your son and your entire family! I really like this photo too...with some of your son's favorite mementos also placed on the bookshelf amongst all the books. Nice photo!

Love this shot. All those books and then the ornaments and memorabilia on the shelves. Mine are like that! Nice one for today's theme.

Tash,
This is a wonderful tribute to your son, and to you, and beautifully photographed I might add.

This is great! A home without books is without imagination.

The lighting makes this seem like such a cozy nook. I could curl up and stay there all day:)

I love this theme, 'cause I love books! Everything about them. The smell, the feel, the actual words.

Great choice for the theme, Tash! Love to see it. We like to have art and family photos around the house, but I think our book shelves are winning the overall battle of the walls. Thanks for sharing!
