Apple pie is my husband's favorite dessert - all the better when homemade.
Here is the recipe:
6-8 sliced green apples & lemon juice
1 1/8 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon & 1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
Mix white sugar and flour together, put in bottom of the crust. Put in the mix of apples, brown sugar & spices. Dot with butter. Add top crust. Bake for 15 minutes at 450 deg. F, & for 35-40 minutes at 350 deg. F. (I use ready made Pillsbury pie crust.)

The bird of paradise is exquisite! And, the pie looks good enough to eat!! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Oh good idea on this Tash. Very creative. Not to mention mouth-watering !
Thanks for your kind comment. It was the framing of the shot that caught my eye too. Plus the ordinariness of what she was doing in such an extraordinary place.
Oh that Bird of Paradise is beautiful and I'd like a slice of that pie please! :)
Gimme dat pie! I am not in the challenge this week cause I have no clue about apple/orange.. Maybe I'll make up my own challenge with French food! HA
Your flower is gogeous as well.
Strelitzias have also start blooming here. Although non-natives they are very common and I find their flowers absolutely exquisite.
It's always interesting to see how everyone interprets the 2 Things Challenge. This is great, I can't say which one looks more beautiful.
Beautiful "bird," beautiful pie, yum, yum.
I found out that the Bird of Paradise is Los Angeles' official city flower
Two great original photos for the challenge. Thanks for the recipe too!
Hi Tash - great shot of the Bird of Paradise. PNG is the home of the original version - the bird that is!!!!
The pie looks delish. I could never make a pie; I'm intimidated by the very thought.
Pie. Now.
Also, love the flowers. They don't grow up here.
This is great, Tash! I love your choices for this week's challenge. Well done!
Nice interpretation! Lovely photos, especially the birds. They were my dad's favorite, too.
The flowers are pretty, but the apple pie sings to me!
The bird of paradise look like they want some pie. Thanks for the recipe!
