'M' is for Mustard Meadows

The area of Palos Verdes Nature Preserve that burned in last August's fire is recovering well, in full living color. The same area after the fire is shown on the Land Conservancy web page: pvplc.org/land/portuguesebend.

You are up late this evening! Thanks for stopping by. I'd forgotten how beautiful the mustard could be. We were a dry place, but spring could bring out the best in us. - Margy

Oh, that is pretty! Far, far nicer than our own man-made square yellow fields of oilseed rape!

Lovely, enticing photo, Tash.

As a kid I was told that the Spanish expeditions sowed the mustard seeds to mark the trails for those who would follow later. Do you think there's any chance that story is true? Wouldn't it be cool if it were?

Nature wins! Oakland, I heard that story, too. I hope it's true, I love it.

I like the way you framed this image with the flowers in the lower portion of the photograph. They're so subtle against the riot of color in the mid ground. I love Palos Verdes.

That web site of the preserve is not user friendly. It would be great if they included a google map

Oh so beautiful!
I love how you framed the picture with the row of flowers at the bottom and the sea at the top.

I am writing this while it is raining and grey in grey here.
