A bit of a stretch for Sunday Bridges but the pier is a semi-circular type and connects the shore with the shore. Weekday afternoons (when this was taken) are not very busy but the weekends are. Wikipedia has a good historical perspective on this pier, which has been rebuilt many times due to storm and fire damage.
My contribution to Aileni's Monochrome Weekend and to «Louis»'s Sunday Bridge Series.

I like this! So many wonderful shapes. The "sail" decorations are a great idea.
Now that place sure has changed! I used to love to go there to people watch. - Margy
Great in monochrome...actually gives it a vintage feel to a contemporary look!!!
Good grief, the Redondo pier really has changed from the old days! If you hadn't identified it I would never have recognized it from your picture. Thanks for the Wikipedia link...I'll check it out. Maybe it will have some pictures of the pier the way it used to look, the way I remember it. More proof that "you can't go home again."
The thing that strikes me is the possibility of high winds - but I think our West Coast might be a little wilder than yours.
A nice scene.
Wonderful photo.
Terrific Tash! Love it in B&W.
Do you like to eat at Kincaid's too?

«Louis» likes this in monochrome - very clever combination of the two memes.
«Louis's» linked it!
Xcellent! Although, you had me fooled thinking this was BnW.
Another great black and white shot of this unusual bridge. Nice work!
A very fine shot of a fascinating pier.
Beautiful! Love the lines and churning water.
Awesome shot. It looks like the pier is marching across the water! Great choice for mono.
A very light bridge that is going to set sails...
I like it in monochrome.
Great lines and shapes in this one. I also love the ocean. :)
That's a different pier from the one I knew! And look at that foam; how you captured that!
I'd take bets on that repeating sail shape motif is a part of the percent for arts program. I don't know if RB has it's own program. I should look into it. I discovered Orange County did. Unfortunately Pasadena seems to now go through art consultants. Pisses me off
What a wonderful shot!
You could almost claim a three for one with that hint of reflection of the pier. I think the wave foam is to die for. Frothy movement!
