St. John's Cathedral - Los Angeles, CA

St. John's Episcopal Cathedral is the work of Pierpont Davis and Walter S. Davis, architects. The Davis brothers designed various landmark buildings in Palos Verdes, first one being the La Venta Inn (more on that building in future posts.) This building is located at the corner of Figueroa and Adams in Los Angeles, near USC where I went to college. Its stateliness is overshadowed by the other famous and more ornate buildings at that intersection - the Automobile Club building and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church. To those who celebrate, I wish you a Happy Easter.

I'm glad you included the script. It appears to have been written into the concrete by hand (no stamps). I find the style of text is also a representation of period work. This script is especially interesting.

Enjoy your day.

«Louis» agrees with Pasadena - the script is very nicely done; beautifully shaped letters.

Blessed Easter to you, Tash.
