Tidepools (Monochrome Monday)
Tidepools at the cove between Long Point and Point Vicente, 13 March 2010 We parked by the lighthouse and walked on the bluffs to get to the coastal access trail. The faint outline of Catalina Island can be seen in the distance.
Wonderful shot ! Love the way you were able to capture the ocean wave as it broke against the rugged rock. This was a picture I'd never expect to see in black and white, but it really works...looks fabulous. Also very fortuitous that you had such a clear day and were able to get Catalina Island in the distance. The photo muse was right at your side on this shoot.
I agree with everyone who has already posted a comment. Great choice to post in B&W. The contrasts really enhance the image. I wish the ocean up here was warm enough to walk in. You're so lucky. I'm so jealous.
Wonderful composition!!! Showing the people walking out of the photo is very different...most will show them facing in towards the center...it very much adds to the drama and interest of the photo!!!
OK. I would have sworn I left a comment. Looks like the gremlins are at work again. I think I talked about how amazing the contrast between the crashing waves and the tidal pools. And Catalina, I didn't think it was so close or so big. And I love the monochrome, T.

I agree with Almost Precious 100 percent!
I also must agree with Almost Precious. I'm not sure I would have seen this as a B&W, now I can't picture it any other way!
Having people in the frame adds to the overall impact of the shot.
oh this is glorious
The darkness of the foreground really gives it a mysterious effect. Looks like they're standing on cooled lava.

Windy, windy! YOu made this view look great in bw, too!
Perfect choice for Monochrome Monday, Tash!
