T-Rock (from Marineland of the Pacific?)

While visiting the cove that is now part of the Terranea Resort, my little friends and I came upon this interesting rock. I chose to believe that it is a remnant of Marineland's pier (shown in the 3rd photo.) Any other guesses?

I just stumbled across your blog by pushing "next blog" enough times.
I lived in Lomita in the 60's and 70's as a kid and teen.
Your pictures brought back some warm memories, including a trip to Marineland where she saw her first and only flying elephant (the tank with a walruss, but the 4 yr old swore it was an elephant).
Anyway, thanks for the warm thoughts. I also think of the times we were chased off by the local police as teens as we didn't belong. LOL, to be a kid again.

I remember Marineland! Went there many times.

The rock may be from there; it's awfully perfect to be an accident.

I have no idea. Maybe something left over from one of the tanks and just cast aside as trash?

Awesome Rock.

Anyone have an old photo of the abandoned sky tower?

Such a wonderful place, Marineland that is. I remember going there as a child. I have a blog with photos of various ruins left by old places. I was really inspired and intrigued with the Marineland ruins. Since it appears there are quite a few people from PV on this blog, I was wondering if anyone had a photo of the abandoned sky tower. I've been searching and searching and haven't found a good one. I have a few from the air, but that's it. http://modernruins.blogspot.com/

A space alien dropped it as a marker!

Most interesting rock, the "T" seems much too perfect to have been made by the natural processes of rock formation...but then again Mother Nature has done some pretty fantastic things, so who's to say?

Like others have mentioned, I remember Marineland but it took your post to jog my memory. You have a great knack for doing that. I've been up the lake with no Internet so I have lots of catching up to do. Have a great weekend! - Margy
