"K" is for Keramik ... Bauer Pottery Co. of Los Angeles

I often drive by treasure of an antique/junk store, Antique Effects, located in Lomita (2050 Pacific Coast Hwy), and the bright colors of Bauer Pottery always catch my eye. Every once in a while I go in. The store is packed and a mess for most part but the ceramics are very nicely organized. Just last week, I found a creamer of the original numbered Spode Gainsborough earthenware for only $24 (the set my husband had before we were married.) I did not buy any of the Bauer dishes but there is always the next time.

I'm in love with these images! The colors are so appealing. I wish I were there at the window with you. I have a huge soft spot for ceramics and pottery, and SoCal mid-century manufacturers especially. I finally got a glass china cabinet and put all my family's dishes in it and pieces I've collected so that I can enjoy seeing them and use them more easily. I think I should own a shop like this instead, though :-). Love your shots of this, Tash!

Oh what wonderful pictures, and reflections on my favorite, pottery.

Love the rugged look, and the colors are marvelous for Fall.

Great "K"

Wonderful photo and great photo material. Not sure what it is about pottery but it seems to draw people's attention and admiration. Perhaps it is the bright happy colors as I find myself smitten by the bold Chinese red pitcher in the photos, wouldn't mind having it in my own collection.

These photos are beautiful. The dishes remind me of the set of Fiesta Ware I bought on a couple of trips to the seconds store at the Homer Laughlin factory in WV about 10 years ago. I still love it as much today as I did then.
