FIRE STATION 106 - Rolling Hills Estates

The Los Angeles County Fire Department - Station 106 is located on Indian Peak Road and is the headquarters for Battalion 14 with 8 fire stations covering West Palos Verdes, Two Harbors Avalon (on Catalina Island), Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills (a very posh private city), and Lomita.
The firefighters were at their workout when I passed by (look between the trucks, in the back), and then they got a call and zoomed out of the station...

My husband is a big fan of the OLD TV show 'Emergency' - the LA fire dept. with the paramedics. The opening shot to episodes looks JUST like your first photo!

Fire Stations. I think I've spent my fair share of time at one particular station. Actually, the murals in LB were across the street from a station. They allowed me to store my stuff and use their facilities.

Now as a linguist the thing I noticed as much as the shiny red fire engines was that you call a fire station a fire station, whereas in Canada it would be a 'fire hall'. I always thought fire hall was North American as a whole.
