Up, Up, And Away (SkyWatch Friday)

"Launch" site is near the upper trailhead of the Burma Road trail at the Protuguese Bend Reserve. We walked a narrow path off the main trail to see the view and lucked out to find a parasailer ready to take-off. With a sublte whoosh sound, the sail filled and he was off. I didn't realize how much gear they carried on their back, sort of like a turtle shell.
Long Point can be seen in the distance, where Marineland was once located and is now being developed as a huge resort.
See some fabulous skies from around the world at SKYWATCH FRIDAY.

That looks great, but I don't think I would ever want to get that high off the ground with just a thin piece of cloth holding me up. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter.

Wow! What a gorgeous view of the parasailor and he must have had equally spectacular views from way up there in the sky...

I would enjoy doing this with my camera. Imagine the shots from way up there. Of course it's quite high. I'm not afraid of heights, its the gravity that worried me.

I was in a Sierra Madre park once, and a hang glider appeared in the sky, seemingly out of nowhere, and landed close by. He offered to take me up, but I declined.

It's pretty cool that there was an S on the sail. Maybe next time SWF!!! I photographed kite boarders just the other day and they were having so much fun. I went parasailing once and think I'll have to do it agains one day soon. Happy SWF!
