Reinvented Space - Montessori School at Golden Cove Center

Here is a commercial space that was very nicely converted from an old Safeway supermarket to a Montessori School. The closed Golden Lotus restaurant will soon reopen as a Trader Joe's market. Below is a view showing the edge of the Golden Cove shopping area and a wide section of PV Blvd South.

If it's a TJ's, make sure the parking lot is small enough. I think the rule is no more than 10 cars at a time.

I got stuck in that very same parking lot with Vic as we argued over where to eat. A little mexican restaurant in the corner that we never did decide on. AH is right about Trader small lot.

oh Tash, so perfect this first picture! What a sunny day!The school reminds me my kids. They studied in a primary school with Montessori methodology, and it was great for Marina and Gui.
Great shot Tash!
Where were you taking that second picture!?
Beautiful! You know...in our visit to LA, in 2007, our first meal in your "country", was in a kind of place, as "Golden Cove shopping"...Mexican food !It was new for me!I liked! :-) funny thing!

This is a very interesting story. The first image has wonderful colors but the second one is a view, and a really spectacular one.

Is this what will happen to your beloved Longs Drug Store?
Look into the Swedish movie "Everlasting Moment" about a woman in the early 1900s with a camera. Shot in beautiful sepia tones. It came out this weekend in independent theaters but is also showing on our cable pay per view.

I'm always happy to see buildings repurposed and this one looks gorgeous. The second photo is amazing for the variety of landscapes you have. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

A building as dazzling as this needed a new purpose and not lost to the wrecking ball. Gogreous.

I see Montessori is still going strong!

I love Trader Joe's and will stop at one even if I have nothing to buy...but buy I do.

That is a BIG school! I can just imagine all those Montosorri kids running up abandoned store aisles. (I know they've remodeled but my imagination gave me the image and I'm going with it!)

Great shots, Tash!
