Spring in Yellow Springs, Ohio

Is a bird caught on "film" worth two on a tree?
Yellow Springs, Ohio  (11 April 2012)

Sam & Eddie's was NOT OPEN...
but the excellent DARK STAR (used) BOOKS & COMICS across the street was.
I came away with 4 comics and 3 books: 1921 edition on historical quilts, a 1919 Zane Gray western, and modern art book from the early 1930's. And from Village Artisians Co-op, I purchased a vibrant mountain & field watercolor by Sue Brezine.

Spring Carpet

It's that time of year again... ice plant blossoms cover bits of the hillside along Hawthorne Blvd. in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Yellow Mimosa (or Can't Fence In Springtime)

I'm taking a guess that these lovely, delicate, puffs of yellow are mimosa tree flowers.

On a different note, check out the museum pieces (living/singing art and Millard Sheet's work) on Pasadena Adjacent's: U-Can-See-Um-In-A-Museum.

Two Coves and a Bend: Abalone Cove - Sacred Cove - Portuguese Bend

View from the trail starting at the west end of Ocean Terrace Dr. (15 March 2010)
Sacred Cove is actually hidden from view and is right after the near point (Portuguese Point). The trail leads down to Palos Verdes Dr., about 1/2 a mile to the right of Abalone Cove Park. We did not hike down this time...but will soon, although I'm not promising to hike back up.
