Bishop, CA ...

... West at its best, just a stone's throw away from Hwy 395.
Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains in the background. No snow anywhere in sight this year.

Ok, you're going to have to go long and far to beat this photo in 2012. It takes my breath away.

Thanks much. The best part was that the horse was grazing and I yelled hello to him and he looked up!

Superb work! It's got all the elements of a perfect photo. Frame it and hang it!!

Postcard stuff here, Tash. The weathered building, the craggy rock and the horse. Not missing much for a perfect Western scene.

Iconic indeed. We've been watching the DVD of Frontier House over the last few nights, now that we've got a DVD player that will play region 1 discs in colour. The wide landscapes are the perfect antidote to midwinter Scottish gloom.

Super stunning shot, Tash, wow. My friend, as you know, lives in Bishop. Are you going to see The Chieftess in Mammoth?

The photo is perfection, absolutely amazing. Love the rustic old barn, it's seen many a year and has a lot of character.

I know exactly where you are. It's after the K-Mart -where the highway goes off in the direction of Tonapah. Did you zoom in on this compressing the background? It's beautiful. A recent visit? no leaves on the trees

this is the road you take to get to my friends ranchette

I thought it was on the south side of 203 as you're starting up towards Mammoth! Great shot Tash! I love that you filled the background with the mountains...and the horse looking up is the coup de grace!!!
