Coastal Views - PVDP on Travel

Portland Island, England from The Cove House Inn - 20 October 2010
Even though this coastline is very far from here, this view gave me a similar feel to being on the cliffs of Palos Verdes on a sunny but cool winter day.
The Cove House Inn was an excellent place for lunch - besides the lovely view, a really pleasant stone-walled dining room, they served the best scallops I'd ever eaten.

What a "silvery" photo. Love the contrast between water, coastline and sky.... Nice catch.

I can see the similarities with your own sweeping coastline, in fact I did a double take when I saw the thumbail, thinking that something drastic has happened to PV plant life.

I want a cottage window that looks just like that.

I often speak of fall light but this is a close runner up. November is it's opening debut and it comes much to quickly for my taste

edit: "comes and goes to quickly"

Beautiful places and nicely photographed, Tash.

Thanks for visiting HDP and special thanks for your very kind comments. The blog is fun for me (and keeps me out of trouble!)

I started checking your blog because I used to visit PV yearly when my mother-in-law lived on Calle Mayor with a panoramic view of the harbor. Now I check it to see your work.

You could have fooled me. I was about to say that the 'palos' are still 'verdes.'

The Isle of Portland (as it is usually known as) is a part of the UK I've not actually visited - lunch with scallops sounds delicious.

If you hadn't said anything I would have thought it was the California coastline. Very similar indeed.
I love the photo of the window with the potted plant, such a charming still life.
