Resting Place

My mother-in-law passed away in Nov. 1998 and is very much missed. She was a long time resident of Palos Verdes and "rests" at Green Hills in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Nice to have her so close by, I'm sure.

This is a pretty shot. Eleven years gone, but not gone.

Touching. I know, Tash, how the "resting place" can be very comforting to us.

I take it you visited on a anniversary. I lost my grandmother in November of 95. Yesterday I hung out with my mother and three of her elderly friends. We were playing rounds of the card gang Skippo while I watched the gals get sloshed. One woman "Patches" (80 plus years) asked me how i felt about my grandmother. She wanted to get an idea of how her grandchildren would speak about her after her passing. I found that interesting.

We really are on the same wave length Tash. On Friday, I posted a view of a long road, fading away in the distance. The photo was taken from atop a hill with magnificent views in all directions. It is the home of Fife Cemetery. We had taken my father to visit the grave site of my baka, my omama, and my mother. It is truly a peaceful resting place, but we often wonder how the three ladies are getting along in such close quarters.

OHMYGOODNESS.. I'm flying out to CA to visit my dad in a nursing home later this week. He's not doing well and this will most likely be a goodbye trip. I'm dreading it to say the very least. I've done it once already w/ my mom and .. well, it's awful.

Dad is to be buried at Green Hills. Sigh..
