Auction - Crystalaire Airport, Llano, CA
The estate of Fred Robinson, sailplane pilot, instructor and owner of the Great Western Soaring school at Crystalaire Airport (Llano, CA) was auctioned off, including 2 tow planes, a gas truck, and many sailplane parts and related items.
Linda, no plane purchases. My son got a couple boxes of stuff for $2 - the only bidder. Turns out one box was full of Perry Mason mysteries which my husband likes - so he did good. It was fascinating to watch the bidding and listen to the fast talking auctioneer.
Greetings from Australia. This is an interesting photo - how many auctions involving aeroplanes could you go to? Not that many would be my guess. I do like the way you posed it with the auctioneer, plne in tow ritght in the middle. The "bidders" appear quite nonchalant judging by their stance. Cheers. Melbourne Daily Photo

Did you buy a plane?

This photo intrigues me. I think it's the fellow on the far left and that you took the shot from a lower angle
I too thought you were going to tell us we were now virtual new owners.
Nice shot! I see there were not too many bidders.
