Here to-day, gone to-M...ammoth

View of the White Mountains and Crowley Lake from Little Eagle lift at Mammoth Mountain.
Actually, we've just returned from a weekend at Mammoth Mountain (a "quick" 6-hour drive from LA basin, not including being stuck in rush hour on Friday afternoon). We've been going there every Super Bowl weekend, of and on, for about 20 years with friends from work and their families. This year, our son left us in the (powder) dust and was off traversing the mountain, while we stuck to the easier runs at Little Eagle lift area. The snow conditions were excellent despite the warm weather and very low snowfall this year.

I'm over at Pasadena Adjacent now

I figured you were out of town. As my last comment on your blog attests to, I "DID" take the day off and went south to Abalone Cove. We probably passed on the Harbor freeway. I've done a post on my mini trip and connected our two blogs.
My childhood best friend lives at the base of the White Mountains. Was there snow on the ground in Bishop?

I found it on Google Maps, it's on the state line with Nevada. Skiing holidays are not exactly what we Europeans associate with California... Nice pictures, I love the one taken from the ski lift.

What a great idea! I'll bet it's not too crowded that weekend.

Nothing, nothing sounds so good as skis against snow as you sail down the trail. Good for you.
