... when in St. Louis, the Gateway Arch is a MUST see. I loved going to the top. 

This was the second time I visited; I am always delighted by its beauty, and 

astounded by engineering feat that the monument is.

(Yes, we did eat at McDonald's TWICE - the first time, to have my Croatian friends try the food -- ratings were low on burgers and fries, very high on strawberry sunday -- and the second time, for the same reason we eat fast food here - convenience when hungry. The restaurant just opened the week before we got there and is much more stylish and posh than the US ones. The servers were just wonderful.)

UPDATE: Los Angeles Theater, 1931; S. Charles Lee - architect; 615 S. Broadway; "A Baroque motion-picture palace. Twin Corinthina columns frame the central notched arch. Above, a varied skyscraper is provided with pinnacles and other sculptured forms. The interior grand staircases and rich decorations is as French Second Empire as the street facade. Probably the finest theater building in Los Angeles."
