Color My World - Muralist at Work

Heather Soodak, artist at work at Miraleste Library, Rancho Palos Verdes, March 2012
A few Saturdays ago, while browsing thru the library, I almost ran into a sign "MURALIST AT WORK" and looked up to see Heather Soodak painting a lovely, bright mural in the children's reading area. Heather is very talented and very nice. She says she'd love to illustrate a children's book - which she would be excellent at, judging by the mural and the drawings on her blog, where she is documenting the progress of the mural: hsoodak.blogspot.com.
See lots of great murals worldwide at Mural Monday at Oakland Daily Photo.

what a fine timing you have.

I really like the intensity of her expression. She may be listening to music, but her focus is where paint meets wall. It will be fun to see the finished product. Thanks, Tash, for participating in this week's Monday Mural.

Excellent. I like how the squirrel looks as if it's ready to kiss her

It was so nice to meet you Tash, thanks for sharing the mural and my website link! The mural has been a lot of work but it is nearly completely finished! I love your blog and photos, so creative and captivating! Hopefully I will see you at the mural opening, which I will post when I find out when it will be. Take care! - Heather

It's so nice to put a face and a name behind the wonderful murals we find. I wish I had Heather's talent... I'd paint a few wall here is this drab town in China I am in. :-)

Wonderful color. That's my daughter-in-law's favorite color, and I've come to like it, too. I'll check out her site.
