Touchdown (almost)

Our 16-year-old son, Ian, as Pilot-in-Command, landing "home" at Torrance airport after a practice flight around the South Bay with his superb instructor Mickey Holton.
Take a close look at the skyline, to see a faint outline of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Are there lessons for pilot-in-trainings' mothers? My heart would be in my mouth.

That looks like a fun plane to fly. I've never been in a tail dragger, but they can really get into some great little strips. - Margy

Sure beats the usual method of air travel, jammed in a tin can like sardines. Love the paint job on this plane. Well done Ian and mom, you have to let them fly away.

Impressive!
Is it common for teenagers to learn to fly in California, or is it a particular interest of your family?
