Whale Trackers

A group of dedicated women watch for whales passing between the mainland and Catalina Island. Twelve whales were spotted last Saturday.

Way back in the 70s I got to go to Scammons Lagoon in Baja to see the whales in their calving grounds. Almost as interesting was driving through the commercial salt ponds. They were some of the best roads we traveled because of the large trucks used to transport the salt. - Margy

Bellissimo!
Reminds me of the terrace at Nepenthe in Big Sur, where many years ago I saw whales passing by.
This photo is stunning.

Fabulous image, Tash. And a job I would love. B&W is the perfect choice for this.

Oh my ! This shot takes my breath away. The sun on the water is stunning and your decision to do black and white makes for pure perfection.
