More Poppies Please - Lancaster, Antelope Valley, LA County

We've had a cold and rainy winter, and the California Poppy Reserve has only splashes of orange, since poppies need more warmth to bloom. Must come back in a week or two.

Tash, where is this reserve. I would love to see it when all the poppies are in bloom.

Hope you have a very good week!

There is nothing more lovely than California during the California Poppy blooming season. What a magnificent golden carpet she spreads across her valleys and hillsides. Sometimes, if one is lucky, the lupine will be blooming alongside and the contrast of the two is breathtaking.
I do hope you manage to return and capture the valley in all its golden glory.

That's one flower I really miss up here in the Pacific Northwest. We have lots of lupine, but no poppies, at least the California kind. - Margy

I agree with Petrea, its a great panorama even without the popies.
