I discovered these metal doors at the Palos Verdes Art Center while hunting for a metal anything - that would be interesting enough to post and located in PV. I was fortunate that an evening painting class was in progress, thus creating the lighting effect. I could not find any information on the doors' designer but did see a plaque stating:
"These doors are donated by Mr. & Mrs. Russell Dymock Smith
in memory of Shirley May Soergel
PS - I could not participate in Sky Watch Friday today but I have a wonderful entry to recommend from NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/

Great strange choice.
This is such a pretty photo. the colours, contrast and light make it so pleasing and relaxing.
I'm always so amazed at the pleasure the little things in life can bring, and how often we just walk straight past them.
Well done for seeing this, and thank you for bringing it to us.
How unusual - such a good choice for today. So different.
I like it too! The different illuminations really create a great effect!
magnificent...you were lucky to get the beautiful lighting effect.

Cool doors. I thought one was gold and the other gray, but you cleared that up. I also like angle you chose with one door open and the light. Very nice 'metal anything' !!!
Wow, that's quite a find! Great pic for the theme day. (Note to self: sign up now for September!).

I like "art" doors, and that looks like a really nice one.
Excellent find, you were lucky with the light! Nice shot :)
Excellent choice! I love the colors and shapes. Very fetching!
Happy Theme Day! And have a great weekend!

what a great peace of art in the shape of doors, very good choice for the metal theme day.
This one is really interesting and has a nice light to it.
C'est vraiment une belle porte : j'aime le contraste des couleurs et des formes et la chaleur du doré.
Thanks for stopping by .
Thought they were of different colors until I read your commentary.
That is a great set of doors for an Art class!
Interesting doors. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me at first. This was certainly a great find for metal day. Wonderful color and lighting.
Very different doors made more interesting by the contrast lighting.
