Close... (SkyWatch Friday)
Sunset at The Getty, Los Angeles (5 Feb 2012)
... it's not really a bird, and it's not really in paradise, but I'd call it close.
I really like this shot! The Bird of Paradise flower always reminds me of my family's next-door-neighbors' house in SoCal. I thought the blooms were so elegant when I was 14 and I still think that. Wonderful silhouette against the multi-colored sky!
This is very nice and beautiful Sky watch photo shared on the site so that can be know that and enjoy it in this photo. So lovely and grateful photo shared on the site. Mostly people are very like it and enjoy it in this photo.
This shot is terrific, Tash. The colors and the form are amazing. My mother-in-law lived on the PV peninsula and had a clump of bird of paradise in her front yard. I associate them with PV.
BTW, your site uses that horrible word verification format. It is very difficult to decipher and takes a lot of time, sometimes failing. You might consider turning it off.
Wonderful colours. I don't know if I've ever told you this story - When I was little, I somehow thought people who had bird of paradise flowers in their garden were rich. When we moved to Long Beach and Mom and Dad planted some in the back yard I knew we were finally "rich." Not really, but it sure gave me a rich feeling. - Margy
