Christ's Church in Rye, New York

Rye, NY on the coast of the Long Island Sound is the home of my mother-in-law and her family. My in-laws were married at this church in March of 1946. At the Rye library, I was able to find various announcements in the back copies of The Rye Chronicle.

Beautiful church, I like the contrast of the stones with the lush grass and how you framed it with the leaves.

Oh it is just breathtaking! I love both the large clock tower and the smaller bell tower. That window is beautiful too. I agree, it is a very romantic place for a wedding!

Did you get a chance to go inside? I imagine that it has a lot of dark wood and looks like a castle. The textures are wonderful. Glad you had a chance to visit and find the articles. Were you able to get copies of them?

This looks similar to some of our churches in So Cal.

What a beautiful church and I especially love the rose window. It looks blue, is it? And the bell tower is magnificent. Would love to hear it ring.

CO is right, doesn't it remind you a bit of the church on York?

My parents married back east but from the look of the wedding album it was some kind of dinky number. This church looks a bit like Church of the Angels on Ave 64
