The one with trees is my favorite; I love the way they are silhouetted against that diagonal line of shade and light across the very interestingly shaped wall.

I had the hardest time picking between 2 shots of this - one is without the trees. Let me know which one is more pleasing.
I like the trees because they add drama to the photo.
And yes, the boys were indeed naked and singing. :-)

I think the trees are needed. It adds the element that allows one to gauge distance and relationships.

Both great shots, but threes really add a drmatic twist.
The trees add interest and contrast with the simple lines of the building.
